EquipNet Direct Breaks E-commerce Barrier
Company Is First True End-to-End Internal and External, Off and OnLine
Solution for the $30 Billion Asset Recovery Industry
Braintree, MA, October 11, 2000 - In a bid to provide unprecedented efficiency
to the $30 billion asset management and recovery industry, EquipNet Direct
today officially announced its groundbreaking asset management services
for both large and small businesses. The company offers manufacturers
end-to-end internal, external, off, and online solutions for the redeployment
of their idle and surplus assets.
EquipNet Direct's principal offering is ARMS (Asset Redeployment Management
System), proprietary software that enables clients to track, identify
and
internally redeploy idle and surplus assets. Addressing the need for increased
efficiency, ARMS provides the user with flexible reporting tools that
tie-in directly with existing financial management applications. EquipNet
Direct conducts a complete analysis with each client to create an asset
redeployment process that best fits its needs and culture. This process
is then implemented with the ARMS application and strategically deployed
throughout the company.
"With the implementation of ARMS, we have seen significant results
in our clients' investment recovery efforts," said Dr. Michael Raymont,
chairman and chief executive officer of EquipNet Direct. "For many
of our customers, this is the first time they have a centralized tool
to help efficiently manage their idle assets internally."
Once ARMS is implemented and equipment is listed internally, personnel
at any company location can request and/or view the asset, and EquipNet
Direct will facilitate its redeployment. All of this is accomplished with
EquipNet Direct hosting the ARMS software on its own servers. This sharply
reduces the operational and maintenance requirements for the customer.
If the equipment is not redeployed internally after a predetermined period
of time, it is seamlessly transferred from ARMS to EquipNet Direct's MarketPlace
for external sale.
EquipNet Direct's external MarketPlace allows buyers and sellers of used
industrial equipment to trade on a daily basis. Equipment may be listed
in a "bid/ask" format and managed by EquipNet Direct in an open
exchange, or EquipNet Direct will host full auctions for companies who
determine that route to be the most efficient method of disposing of surplus
assets.
EquipNet Direct employs personnel with years of asset management experience
- servicing several key industries including forest products, chemical,
pharmaceutical, and consumer products, and offers all a full line of value-added
services. These services include plant liquidation appraisal, equipment
decommissioning, transportation logistics (i.e. crating, rigging,
and shipping), re-installation, training of new end users, and line integration.
EquipNet Direct's services have been successfully implemented at several
major national and international companies, including BASF, Louisiana-Pacific,
Inland Packaging, and Nestle Canada.
"As we continue to partner with an increasing number of these industry
leaders, it is becoming clear that our total-solutions business model is what
is needed in the asset management sector," concluded Dr. Michael Raymont.
